AirPort Express old and new - 802.11g ...

I just bought an Airport Express to update my wireless network. My previous Airport Express was about 5 years old.

My question is this: can I continue to use the older unit, say, to boost the signal from the newer unit? Or would running 802.11g and 802.11n together on the same network simply confuse my wireless devices?

Joining a ActionTec mi424-wr network ...

I had verizon fios installed in my apartment a few weeks ago. They gave me a mi424wr router with it, and it see,s to be working just fine. I pulled out my original airport express and thought I would have it join the network so that I could use it to play music from.

When I do this, nothing happens. Once I i run the automatic set up, it says it restarts and then the airport utility never finds it again (factory reset is the only may I can see it.)

When I am asked to remember the password in the keychain and if I click yes, my laptop no longer gets on the network. It says the airport has a self-assigned IP and the only way to rememdy the problem is to that entry in the key chain.

All I want to do is stream my music. Does anyone have any advice?

Airport express will not update ...

The unit works fine, it's about one month old. Every time I open up the airport utility it says that 'This Airport Express should be updated to the latest firmware. Current version: 7.4.1 Available version 7.4.2" I've run this update at least four times and every time it completes 'successfully.' Upon returning to the airport utility mainpage, it just says the same thing again. It's just stuck at 7.4.1.
Any ideas?

Airport Express dropout when ...

When I try to download a large file with my airport express it drops out and the connection is lost for seconds. Then the airport reconnects.
I use a Motorola modem and when I connect my MacBook direct to the modem I have no problems with downloading large files.

The situation is as following:

Airport Express has good connection (green light) and the modem connectivity light is active.
When just visiting webpages nothing happens.
When I download a large file it downloads for about 10 seconds and then the Airport Express light becomes orange indicating it restarts. The connection with the Airport Express over Airport is lost.
The connection light on the modem is not active anymore, indicating the Airport is not downloading from it.
After a couple of seconds the Airport express is restarted and everything is back to normal.

I use the latest firmware version from the Airport Express and there are no other WIFI networks on the same channel. The Airport is set to spread one IP adress and DHCP is set automatically.
The downloading problem also occures when trying to download a large file on a Windows computer.

Does anyone knows how to fix this?

Problem with Airfoil sound quality with ...

Hi - I recently installed Airfoil so I could stream internet music to speakers in another room. I had already been doing this with iTunes. The set-up was simple and it worked immediately. My only issue is that the sound, although not terrible, is not as good as using ITunes (volume not as high - of course I can turn it up more - but also not as deep and rich a sound - out of the same speakers).

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, any solution? I am running Snow Leopard, which Airfoil supports, and I have insured that the software is up to date. Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Failed Install of Airport Express Has ...

I tried to install Airport Express on one of my home computers. The install failed. Additionally, the install somehow adjusted/damaged the wireless connection on the one computer on which I attempted the install. The other computers on the network are working fine.

I am hoping for help/insight into fixing the home network first. After that, I will attempt to reinstall Airport Express.

The specific problems that I am seeing:

1. Internet connection drops in and out.
2. Icon on computer says that the computer is not connected to the wireless network, when it actually is, and vice versa.

I have tried restarting the computer as well as turning on and off the routing and modem, neither of which had any effect.

Thanks, in advance, for any help.

AIr Tunes Recognized, Not Connecting ...

Very recently one of the iMacs would still recognize both of our Express units for Air Tunes, but refuses to connect to one of them (will connect to the other). Two other computers in the house connect with both fine (including MBP sat right next to the iMac that won't connect). Apple suggested reinstalling ITunes. Nothing. Not sure what to do. Expresses work fine with the other computers. Also to note, the other computers won't connect with the iMac for ITunes sharing (again, they connect fine with MPB when it's right next to iMac--ruling out interference). All computers are under one year. All Snow Leopard. Besides the Expresses, also use a Time Capsule, but not for Air Tunes. Come on, Apple Detectives! Help.

Wireless repeaters airport ...

Hello all,

I live in a flat, and connect to the internet via a wireless router owned and configured by my landlord. The router is in another building, at the other end of the garden. I have a windows desktop machine that can connect OK to the network, provided the wireless adapter stays taped to the glass of the window facing the router.

My new Mac Book can connect fine if I hold it close to the window, but this is hardly ideal. I plan to get hold of a wireless repeater to provide coverage throughout the flat.

My question is, has anyone done something similar, and are there any devices that are known to work well/not to work well for achieving this? Will any standard access point in repeater mode work for what I want?

So I tried resetting to factory default. Now neither MacBook can see the airport express unless directly connected via Ethernet.

The twist: I am typing this on my iPhone, that is connected to the internet via the very same airport.

Green light is showing on the AE, and, for simplicity, I have it set to no password required. The MacBooks do not detect it (though they can see every other network in the building).

Airport Express: Optical out: Itunes 8 ...

For a few weeks now i've been streaming from itunes and airfoil to my AX connected by analogue to my amp...no problem there, everything worked fine. I then purchased a Cambridge Audio DACmagic and went the optical route to improve quality. I experience small jumps in the music...there doesn't seem to be any sequence; they're irregular. It sounds like a small skip on a CD and i can see the signal light flicker off on the DAC for a fraction of second. I can plug the powerbook directly in the DAC optically and there's no problem.

Now, following the advice on a few threads, i've downgraded from itunes 8 to 7. That's solved the problem when streaming from itunes, the optical out from the AX works fine... I'll wait until i'm sure apple have fixed the problem before going back to 8.

However, my current problem is that i regularly listen to last.fm and spotify etc through airfoil. This has the same problem as itunes 8......small skips every 30 seconds or so.

I know it's not the radio stream (works perfectly through analogue and optically direct from laptop)
I know it's not the DAC (work perfectly optically from laptop)
I know it's not the wireless network (works perfectly through the analogue out from AX)

Any advice ??????

AirPort Express extends N only (2,4ghz) ...

Hi,

I have a question regarding my TimeCapsule - AirPort Express setup. Both are late 08 so the TC isn't able to broadcast dual band. Anyway, what I found out is that my APE is extending the N network b/g/n. So it's not N only. When I'm connected directly with my MBP to my TC I can up/down files with reasonable speed (to my TC disc). But when I connect to my TC trough the APE it takes ages to up/down. I think this might have something to do with the b/g/n broadcast. Because I think that when it's N only it'll go faster. What do you guys think?

Cheers!

I was able to connect to it via direct ethernet connection and hard reset. However, when I manually reset the settings and try to update, the Airport Express restarts and seems to get hit with amnesia. It goes back to the blinking orange light and I can't connect (unless I perform another reset). It seems that I just can't get it to remember its settings.

Scheduling nighty reboot for ADSL modem ...

Greetings, my MacBook Pro is connected to my Qwest DSL service via Airport Express and an Actiontec modem. I've found that to get the best connection from the modem, I need to reboot it occasionally (even if the connection is not completely lost). Normally I do this by unplugging the power adapter from the modem, waiting several seconds, then plugging it back in. I'd like to have this done for me every night (say, around 5 AM), and I know this could be done via a physical power outlet timer. But can it be done via Airport and/or my Mac? And if so, how? (I've checked in the administrative options for the modem and can't find a reboot scheduler there. My preference would be to use some option that allows me to leave my Mac in sleep mode at night.) The dreaded error -6753 strikes again.. ...

Bought an airport express for my parents yesterday, things were going ok, until I plugged it into a wired network with Internet connectivity, where it asked to update the unit's firmware.
After the firmware update, it began to offer the error -6753 to the utility.

After fighting with it for hours, I took it back to the store and got another one.

Took that one home, configured it as a client and had it playing music thru my stereo in about 10 minutes.

Brought the new working one to my parents, and thru the mess of trying to reconfigure it for their network I foolishly let it update it's firmware too,
then the thing began with the error -6753 again.
Now it won't show up on the network at all!

Apple's support page seems to want money to diagnose it, and won't let me register the unit (claims the date 10 Oct 2009 is invalid).

The PC in question (running the utility program) is a Windows XP home laptop.

Any solid answers from Apple on this? Seems like lots of random tips on the forum, nothing solid..

Airport Express Connectivity ...

Hi all! Just curious if anyone has been having problems with Airport Express and Comcast cable internet. I'm currently subscribed to the lowest tier, 5.5 mbps, and am "renting" a Motorola SB5120 cable modem. The problem I've been running into is the modem loses connection, or isn't communicating with the Airport Express. My set up is cable from the wall, into a splitter, one cable into TV, other into the modem, Ethernet into Airport Express from modem. I've already contacted Comcast several times regarding my disconnections, they are obviously unable to resolve it. I also have a 1/8 to RCA stereo cable connected from the Airport Express into my home stereo for Airtunes. What's happening is I'm having to reset the modem nearly everyday in order to maintain connection. I've already replaced the modem once, but I'm having to do the same thing with this refurbished modem. My mac is picking up the Airport Express just fine, I'm able to play tunes, and connect to my set up network, there's just no internet in the network unless I reset the modem. Any ideas? Also, there are two iPhones in the house, could the iPhone Wi-Fi be interfering somehow?

Apple AirPort Express - Streaming Music on iTunes - Frequent Music Drop outs

I have just purchased an Apple AirPort Express for the sole use of streaming music from my laptop to my home cinema system.

My system has bundles of power (Core 2 Duo, 3gb RAM, 320gb hard disk, Intel-N WiFi) and is running Windows Vista Premium. I am using the latest version of iTunes (version 8) and have it setup to play through remote speakers. I have my AirPort Express connected to my home cinema system.

When I play music on iTunes through ONLY my computer speakers I have no problem with drop outs.

However, when I play music through either (1) my AirPort Express or (2) multiple speakers (i.e. the AirPort Express and my computer speakers together) I experience frequent and unbelievably annoying drop outs in the music stream.

I have determined this has nothing to do with interference with the wireless signal and believe this is something to do with iTunes - the reason being the drop outs occur in BOTH the computer speakers AND the AirPort Express speakers (when I select multiple speakers) but does not occur when I select ONLY the computer speakers.

Please could you provide some advice on this as I am unable to use the AirPort!

Many thanks

Elliot

Hi. I understand that many people have experienced their airport express cutting out but I've had a look at how they solved it and it doesn't seem to fix my problem. I hope someone can help.

I've only had the device a few months and only used to play music from my computer to my hifi. This never gave me any problems.

I then got broadband and a wireless router. This device lives about 6 meters away from my airport express so they aren't connected by wires.

I have my computer's airport connected to the wireless router and the airport joins the wireless network.

The problem is when I try to play music it cuts out after a minute or so and then constantly drops every few seconds.

If anyone has any suggests they would be very welcome

If I get an airport express, can I plug in the hard drive to the USB port to make it wireless, or does that only work for wireless printing?

Green light on Airport Express but ...

Apologies if this has been dealt with elsewhere - I couldn't find an answer!

I connected my Airport Express via Ethernet to the Mac and configured it to use the wireless network in client mode. I then disconnected the ethernet cable, restarted the AX and can confirm that solid green light is shown. However, the Mac is unable to locate it remotely using either Airport Utility or iTunes. My Mac does not have wireless built in and therefore it should be using my Linksys WAG160n router to locate the Airport (the Mac is hard-wired via ethernet to the router).

The problem appeared when I added the new router, though I'm not convinced that this is the issue, because AX is connecting wirelessly to Wifi (hence the green light). I can't see the Airport 'fan' icon in the Apple menu bar and am not sure how I 'tell' my Mac about the wifi network - do I need to add it as a named network??

FYI, in the Network Prefs, I can only see Ethernet and Built-in modem - not sure if this is relevant, but thought I should include for completeness

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!

I'm using Mac Mini with Snow Leopard, a new Airport Express 802.11n and an iBook G4. The AX is set up, steady green, and the laptop can access the Internet. The Mini shows green on all but the Internet access and Server. My DSL modem uses static IP, and the Mini will not connect. Diagnostics indicates it cannot solve the issue; Assistant is also useless. What is preventing the Mini from connecting through the AX? It does connect without difficulty using direct Ethernet connection.

Remote app and an ethernet network ...

I'll try to keep this simple.

Everything was working fine with 10.5.8, no longer with Snow Leopard.

I have an ethernet network connected to DSL.
Apple TV is hooked up via ethernet.
MacPro is hooked up via ethernet.
Airport Express is hooked up to ethernet and has a wireless WEP network for airtunes, etc.

Before the Snow Leopard I could:

1. Connect to my AppleTV with the Remote App with my iphone when connected to the Airport.
2. Connect to the iTunes Library on my MacPro with my iphone with the Remote App.

Now, unless I unplug the ethernet cable on the AppleTV I cannot connect with the Remote App. Also, cannot connect to the iTunes Library at all (the MacPro doesn't have Airport, but it never had.

Any ideas? Thanks!

How to update airport card for WPA? ...

Hi, I've an earlier AX, and an original airport card that I understand can be updated to be able to be WPA compatible. How do I do this? The AX is setup for WPA/WPA2 personal, and I have no trouble joining the network from other macs, and I just learned that the original airport card is supposedly able to be updated to also handle WPA. This card is installed on a g3 imac 700 se with os 10.4.11.

Thank you,

Devices can only connect to airport exp ...

I hope someone can help:
I have a Macbook and Windows XP machine both successfully connected to my Airport Express Wi-fi network. But I also have a Nokia mobile phone (Symbian OS) and Dell Axim PDA (Windows Mobile) which I would like to connect. These devices can connect to every other network I have tried but can only connect to the Airport Express network if I connect them before the Macbook is connected (they remain connected if I then connect the Macbook too). If I try to connect them after the Macbook has connected, they don't even see the network! The Windows XP machine is unaffected by any of this.

Any help much appreciated!

enlarge an already excisting non-apple ...

Hello

I'm trying to use a new AirPort Express to enlarge an already excisting wireless network.
This is a network of my neighbourg (we share an internet-connection). Because the signal is only strong in one corner of the room I try to enlarge his network.
The thing now is, that I don't know what wireless rooter he uses, but I'm quite sure it isn't an apple one.
An cable is not an option because we are not allowd to drill holls in the walls of our appartment so I only can reach this network wireless.
I can't figure out how I have to configurate my AE to enlarge his network.

Thanks

Airport express seems slow? ...

Hi just bought an Airport Express upgraded from an old wireless b band router. But the transmit rate is lower at 26? I have a new imac so everything should be 'n' compatible? Is there some way to adjust the settings to get more speed? it is some what frustrating? Should the multi cast rate be set higher? will that speed-things up if I am downloading and surfing or using more than one computer? From what I have read I should see transmit rates 70 and above?

THanks

File under 'Dumb Questions' please... ...

I'm new to this wifi stuff so please humour me.

I have a new Intel iMac with an Airport card built in. My cable broadband plugs into the Mac. Downstairs I want to stream my iTunes Library from the Mac. My Question?

If I plug the Airport Express into the wall next to the hifi and hook it up using a Monster splitter cable to the hifi, with the appropriate settings will I then be in a position to kick back and listen? Whats puzzling me is the socket in the Airport Express for a broadband cable.

Any patience in explaining things much appreciated.

How do I confirm my wireless network is ...

How can I tell for sure whether my network is closed, other than checking the settings for network on base station configuration page in Airport Admin Utility? I don't know anyone within range who could take a look at their available networks list to see whether mine is showing up (as I don't want).

I thought that after opting to create a closed network (personal, not enterprise), even I would not be able to see my network name when I click on the Airport status icon which displays a list of networks available to join. But it's listed there.

New 802.11n Airport Express won't ...

I recently replaced one dead of two b/g AX on a AirTunes/WDS enabled Airport system comprised of a 802.11b/g Airport Extreme router, two b/g and one 802.11n AX bases, with a new 802.11n AX. The three AX were all added to join the network as relay Airtunes bases, not on WDS, to three audio system locations

When I added the first 802.11n AX it was a simple matter setting it up in the Airport Admin (AA). This new 802.11n, however, will not read in AA when scanned for set-up to configure, and I get a blocking message saying that the Airport Extreme router will not support software/firmware updates for this AX when I attempt to add it as a client after enabling WDS on the system. I can work around the message in settings for security conformity, etc., but then updating goes through the motions without success.

After hard reset, the AX will show up in the Airport Set-up Assistant to configure, and also as a new and separate network in the Internet Connect pane, and AA if I select it as a network, but using either to attempt configuration fails. (A dozen attempts, since persistence sometimes matters with things Airport.)

Since I had no issue with adding the first 802.11n AX to an old b/g system, I can't figure why this one is not allowing a normal read in AA and giving a software grief message on work arounds'.

Still running fully updated 10.4.11. Any thoughts?

Basically when the Acer Aspire 5315 laptop enters the living room when I am in my bedroom, I lose connection so only the lowest bar of the Airport shows. However this is not the case visa versa (The Bedrooms and the points the laptops are used are about the same length away). The router is Sitecom WL-173. Please may I have some assistance from somebody!

NAS setup question using Airport Express ...

I currently have a non-apple wifi router in the living room in which my modem is plugged in to. I have an airport express in my bedroom as an "extender".

I am interested in buying a NAS (specficially the WD My Book World Edition).

If I plug in the hard drive in to the Airport Express using an ethernet cable, will the drive appear as a NAS on my macbook? Please let me know if I need any special settings on my Airport Express.

I realize I can't use Airport Disk utility via the USB drive which is only supported on the Extreme, but will this work? Thanks in advance

Aiport Express and scanners ...

Yes, i know apple says it's not possible and some people say "why would you wan't a scanner away from our computer" but if your scanner (like mine) is a all-in-one device (HP Deskjet F380) then it's a different game. Every time i want to scan something i have to unplug the scanner from the airport express and plug it in to my macbook.

Now with Snow Leopard here is a scanner sharing function, so if a computer can share it's scanner, why not the airport express.

I wonder if some kind of firmware update could implement this function (or maybe even a new device)

Where should this be posted so that apple would listen.

AX and Airtunes breaks my network ...

I'm on a small home network of three Apple laptops and a Verizon Actiontec MI424WR router. I recently purchased a second hand Airport Express base station so we could get AirTunes running in the apartment.

However, whenever I try and set the AX up to join the network, not only does it not work, but the computer I'm trying to set it up with does that horrible thing where the DHCP connection doesn't work, it gains a self-assigned IP of the 169.254.x.x variety, and I can't get on the internet.

I've managed to fix this my erasing the connection pref panes and forcing it to forget the password to join the wifi. On reboot, it seems to be able to reconnect, but it's a major pain.

Any idea why this might be happening?

Airport Express as Extender not mac ...

I'm using a time capsule as my main base station and wireless n airport express in "extend my wireless network" mode. On top of WPA2 I've also setup Mac Filtering on the base station. Since the airport express is an extender it doesn't actually have the option to enter mac addresses. I've noticed that the time capsule is actually doing the job of filtering out unauthorized mac addresses but my airport express just lets ALL computers connect (with WPA2 typed in of course). Anybody else have this problem? Thanks!

Speakers cutting out via AX ...

Hi, all--

Recently, like many of you, I have upgraded my software. Since then, I have noticed that the speakers I have plugged into the speaker jack of my AX cut off in the middle of songs when using iTunes. All my songs are AAC or purchased AAC. Prior to the updates, I had no such issues.

I CAN plug my speakers into the mac itself, but am wondering if anyone else is having this issue, and if there is anything I can do/switch/correct myself--or if there is a glitch in the software, and I just have to wait this one out. (Hopefully, it's an easy fix.)

Thanks much,
Doc

Airport Express doesn't allow to join ...

Hi there --

I am experiencing a problem I've not encountered before with my Airport Express, which is now about 4 years old. I will be on my network (WPA/WPA2 Personal), connected to the internet, no problems at all. Then I leave home, bring my MBPro with me, use my MBPro successfully on another network (at school, at a cafe, at a friend's home). I come back to my own network, and suddenly my network appears in the list of available networks, but I cannot connect to it either automatically or manually (I get a message that it has timed out). The same is true if I try to connect with my iPhone, which has my home network "remembered."

When I look at the Airport Express, the light is green and all appears fine. Even if I completely restart my MBPro or even shut-down and restart, the same problem. Opening Airport Utility, the utility tells me that no Apple Wireless Devices can be found, no matter how many times I hit Rescan.

The only solution is to unplug the Airport Express (again, with green light, looking "fine") and plug it back in again -- but even so, sometimes I must do this 3 or 4 times before it allows my computer or iPhone to connect. And, when that happens, at the same time, of course Airport Utility can locate it and reports that all is well.

I have Airport Utility set up to automatically check for firmware updates daily, but none have been reported. I believe the firmware is up-to-date (it is using version 6.3 and this is an Airport Express that is 802.11g/b compatible).

Anyone have any suggestions? it is getting very tiresome to go through this unplug-and-test routine two and three times daily.

Thanks,
A

using a MacBook with OSx 5.8 and and iMac , using an air express , links to the internet ok , can see the Image of the other puter in the network menu(both puters see each other in the network pane), has screen sharing avail, and can share the other screen, but will not share files (despite) "file sharing" in system prefs being checked. clicking "connect as "brings on "connection failed" notice.
Seems a setting is not set correctly, but which setting? tried numerous things but no joy , I'm betting it's something simple, just not sure what. any suggestions, please.

Airtunes stops after end of song. ...

I use an Airport Express (model with 802.11n) only to stream music to my stereo. The wireless is disabled and my laptop is connected to the LAN directly (read: not using wireless anywhere). I can connect to the AE using the Airport Utility without fail, the AE's LED is always green, and iTunes on my MBP is set to Shuffle (read: music does not stop...ever). The AE is running the latest firmware (7.4.1), the MBP is running Leopard w/ iTunes 8.

The problem is after a random number of songs (from 3 to 10, rarely beyond), Airtunes stops playing music. Note, this only happens at the END of a song, and never during a song in progress. The visualizer in iTunes continues throbbing, so I know music is still streaming from iTunes. In fact, the network switch between my laptop and the AE continuously blinks, as if traffic is still being sent to the AE. However, there is no sound out of the AE (using it's analog out). I have to pause or stop the current track, then hit play, for Airtunes to work again.

This began happening since upgrading to the latest firmware (7.4.1). I've reset the airport multiple times, reset its configuration, and still get the same results. When Airtunes drops out, I've checked the AU and found the Airport still active. I've checked the log, and it's empty aside from the connection established messages and the ntp clock sync messages, both of which happen outside the time of the airtunes drop out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Using Airpot Express to bridge existing ...

Hi list. Having some problems with my network since adding an Airport Express to it. Hoping someone can help me out.

My setup:
WiFi router (a Thomson 585n 802.11n model)
...connects wirelessly to...
Airport Express (newest model, the .11n one)
...connects over Ethernet to...
generic 10/100 switch
...connects over Ethernet to...
PS3, Xbox 360, DNS-323 NAS, and my TV

All four of the devices downstream of the switch experience intermittent difficulties connecting. They fail to get IPs, or they connect then drop the connection, or they simply fail to connect at all. This problem continues to exist on any given device if I eliminate the switch at connect directly to the Airport Express.

However, iTunes will happily stream music to the Airport Express without any problems I've seen. The LED on the front of the Express stays green. Pings from my Macbook to my Airport Express always work, even while the PS3 is failing to connect. So I think the wireless link is working fine. I conclude it's a problem within the Airport Express's bridging functionality.

Now, there isn't an awful lot I can change. The Express is set to "join wireless network" and "allow Ethernet clients". It's connection sharing is set to "Off (bridge mode)", which is right, I think (although that dialog is also ghosted and I'm not allowed to adjust it). That's the only setting I can do, actually -- "extend a wireless network" and "join a WDS network" both fail, probably because of my router.

Is there anything I can do to fix this or diagnose the problem further? I'm wondering if something is up with the MAC routing.

Factory Reset does nothing. I guess ...

I have an airport express 802.11n and I've been using it for over a year as a remote part of a WDS without a hitch. Recently it refused to join the network and so I reset it, reloaded the configuration and it was fine. After having to do this a couple of times the Airport Express is now just showing the solid amber light for about 60 seconds, flashing green once and then showing the solid amber light for 60 seconds repeatedly. That seems like it's restarting itself over and over again.

The annoying thing is that now it won't even reset to factory default. I followed the various instructions and variations people have suggested on these lists but it's not resetting at all. Is it dead, now that it's out of warranty?

Hope someone can shed some (none amber) light on this.

WDS setup ...

Hi, I've recently moved a computer into a new room and can't for the life of me figure out how to set up a WDS network with Snow Leopard. I had this setup successfully under 10.5 but they've changed everything now. Every time I do attempt the auto configuration (clicking continue and selecting extend range of already existing network for my express) and it comes up with a message saying an error occurred, to quit airport utility and try again.
Great help.
I've also tried to set it up manually to no avail. I'm sure this question is asked a lot but I've searched and couldn't find anything relevant to 10.6. When I do it manually this message comes up "An error occurred while updating the configuration. Make sure your Apple wireless device is plugged in and in range of your computer or connected via Ethernet and try again. (-16)"

For setup my computer and both airports are all within 10 feet of each other, so that's not the problem.

Any help?

Thanks in advance!
