incomplete disclosure

an item is coming up that i really would like to bid on and it could go high. seller after one email exchange has said the item is an "excellent item" but will not say whether or not it has any repairs and restorations. i emailed him several times as have some friends, and he will not respond. this should be a fair warning i suppose but i'd really like to get the item and his feedback rating IS 100%. so if i'm silly enough to bid and get it and discover the piece has repairs/restoration, do i have recourse thru paypal, etc. on the basis that he has not fully disclosed the condition of the piece? several ebay friends of mine have tried to draw him out with the question of repairs/restoration but he has not responded to them either. suggestions?|||Personally I would bet it has repairs/restoration since the seller is unwilling to say it doesn't. I would not bid but its your time/money to gambleIt may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"||||||thanx, for your reply. he came clean, there is a repair.|||well said, thanx james.|||One thing you haven't mentioned is when these questions were being asked. If y'all have been shooting these questions at him in the past 24/36 hours, and there's been no response, it could be that the seller has taken off for a 3 or 4 day holiday weekend, and simply hasn't seen them ... yet. Regardless, in a situation where repairs or restorations are going to significantly diminish the value of the item or its usefulness, I wouldn't bid without a straight answer from him.|||Kg11, I have to go with fshardy on this one. Check out the listing later this evening, or Tuesday morning. The questions may be answered and posted in the listing. It would be easier to give more advice if we had a time line.~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I did not sell you my opinion|||OP~~Is that you in post 3 with a different ID?
