Just What Should I Expect of an Item Listed "MIB"?
I collect diecast model cars and buy & sell frequently on eBay. When I buy an item described "Mint in Box" I expect it to be absolutely unused and in its original packaging. I don't necessarily expect brand new (I've several models bought at KB Toys when they went belly up a couple of years back and sell them as "MIB" although they've been in my closet a while), but I do expect a perfect-condition, clean, fully intact model. Is my understanding of"MIB" correct?|||Personally I would expect what you do. MIB is not an "official" eBay item condition in their lists. Have you contacted the seller? I would do this right away. If your item is not as described in the listing, and the seller will not accept a return and refund you, you can file a SNAD dispute with PayPal (I recommend) or eBay. Both will require you to return the item on your own dime if you win the dispute. PayPal .. Link eBay .. If you are selling to the collectible crowd, they are very very picky. You may want to ask over on the collectibles board about this. of course.. You may get a mint in a box...Even when I am telling a lie I am truthful. Rick|||adj 1. (Non-sporting Hobbies / Philately) (of coins, postage stamps, etc.) in perfect condition as issued in the original box. I would not assume the box was mint unless that was stated(mimb)It may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"|||"I would not assume the box was mint unless that was stated(mimb)" And to add to that, one should also not necessarily assume it was sealed, either. As that would be MISB.
