just curious, are buyers mad...

...that sellers can still accept checks/money orders, but only if THEY ASK the seller about it (since sellers can't ADVERTISE that they take other payments)? Mark your calendars...Jan 2 is Fake Jan Day!!!!|||Why would they be mad? What would that accomplish?||||||We have not seen any decrease in sales, or changes in questions being asked of us since the policy came into effect a few years ago. In some categories, the response may be different. I think most people are used to paying by credit or debit card when buying online now. In most stores I shop at including the grocery store, its unusual today to see someone paying by check. Heck I personally haven't written a check in over 6 years. I don't even own a checkbook anymore. I keep my register on a legal pad. I haven't gotten around to using the computer for that yet (personal records, not business).friends Director,|||I got another 100 cheques from my bank last month. I haven't used any yet. When I recieved them I noticed that the last of the previous 100 were old enough that the bank (actually a credit union) was sold, changed its name, and moved to spiffy new quarters-- about three years ago. The numbers on the bottom didn't change so that was alright. The only thing I use them for is to pay my property taxes. Cheques still exist, but like Registered Mail, they are little used.|||It doesn't make me mad. I quit buying from sellers that didn't offer Paypal a long long time ago. That was after the Post Office was slow getting my money order to the seller and the seller accused me of not paying. And I got tired of spending the extra money for Signature requested after that so I would be sure the seller got the money order. On top of that was also the cost of the money order and gas to drive to town and back to get the money order. With Paypal, I have proof I paid, and by paying with a credit card, I have more recourse in getting my money back if something goes wrong with the transaction.|||Only buyers waiting to get stiffed use checks or money orders.....||||||Not at all. I've been a user on and off long before Paypal. I prefer to use a credit card. I feel I have much more protection than to send a check or MO.||||||They could only be mad if they knew . But I believe the majority don't knowIt may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"|||impeeryus-that is great how you do business but the reality is it safer to buy online w credit card no matter where you shop.More so on ebay where you are buying from a smaller business or an individual you don't knowIt may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"||||||I'm not interested in shopping on ebay without the benefit of buyer protection, so no - it doesn't make me mad.|||It is the tenor of the message ebay is giving all buyers by removing the option to offer those methods of paymentIt may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"
